ABOUT ME:
I love the beach, travel and learning about new cultures. My career is actually in Human Resources Consulting and I have another business that is based in Thailand. I consider myself fortunate to have 2 places to call home and spend my time travelling between both Oz and Thailand.
ABOUT SUGAR & SPICE:
Sugar and Spice Australia was created in 2015 with the vision of making high quality Beach Headrests for every sun and beach lover around the world to enjoy.
WHY DID YOU START YOUR OWN BUSINESS?
I purchased a Beach Headrest in 2000 from Bali and it had become very salty and a little outdated, however i couldn’t find another one anywhere. It was then that I decided to mix my love of sun and saltwater and set off my design and had my own Beach Headrests made.
PROUDEST ACHIEVEMENT SO FAR:
My proudest achievement to date would be the interest and bulk orders I have been receiving of late.
WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS?
I would like to say my service and quality of my Beach Headrests.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WORK IN YOUR BUSINESS?
For the large part it’s just me, however my Mum assists with the despatching of orders when I’m abroad.
WHERE WILL YOUR BUSINESS BE IN 5 YEARS?
I hope to see it stocked in more retail shops around Australia!
MY ADVICE TO SOMEONE STARTING OUT IN BUSINESS:
There are going to be highs and lows, but make sure you celebrate every micro win and push through those lows!
